SPOON CLUB SMALL PRINT

Spoonclub is all about self-led spoon carving / basketmaking with green wood. Is not a teaching session but there will usually be folk happy to share tips and guidance. It’s for those that have experience of Greenwood craft, at some level, to make together and enjoy their craft. You don’t have to be an expert, but a sound understanding of safely working with edge tools is essential, so as not to injure yourself or others. Spoon club is a good introduction to our wider group.

Green wood will be available but if you have any to donate for rolling stock, please bring it.

For those who can carve but don’t have axe/block, some part-made green wood spoon blanks will often be available for a donation towards chainsaw / bandsaw blades.

Spoon club will be held in an indoor studio workshop in winter and will continue in an outdoor woodland workshop are once summer evenings are light enough (May-August).

Only carving tools can be used in the studio. There is a covered corridor area where splitting / axe / saw work can be done.

Everybody is responsible for their own safely and site owners / any session organisers will not be held responsible for injury caused to self of others while attending the sessions. If you are not deemed to be safe, you will be asked to either seek professional training before returning or in extreme cases asked not to attend future events. The spoon club is a friendly, nurturing environment – anyone not following that behavioural code will be asked not to attend future events.
